Who are we?

We’re three golf geeks who love to study, talk about, and teach the great game of golf.

Erik J. BarzeskiErik J. Barzeski •

Erik is the co-owner of Golf Evolution in Erie, PA, and brings an extensive scientific background to coaching and instruction. He has been teaching golf since 2010 and he enjoys the problem-solving inherent in modern instruction, as well as using the latest available tools and technology.

Erik has been named to Golf Digest‘s “Best Young Teachers in America” list (before turning 40 :D) and the “Best in State” list. He also earned the 2019 WNY PGA Teacher of the Year award. Erik co-authored Lowest Score Wins, co-created Analyzr video analysis software, and was Director of Instruction for 5 Simple Keys®. Erik is certified or uses GEARS, GCQuadMAX, FlightScope, SAM PuttLab, Capto, Smart2Move, Sportsbox AI, and HackMotion. He also coached the Penn-State Behrend Golf team to four conference championships in nine years.

Jayson Nickol • Jayson Nickol

Jayson is Owner of Nickol Golf in Winnipeg, Canada, Jayson a veteran that was drawn to teaching the game after injuries forced him out the service. Falling back in love with the game after coming back from surgeries Jayson realized that the traditional “one swing for all” teaching was not working for him and knew there must be a better way to teach golfers how to play and enjoy the game more he started his teaching journey in 2019.

Jayson is Titleist Performance Institute level 1 and also Golf level 2. Certified Ground forces from one of the world leaders Steve Furlonger. Jayson is also Certified Swing Catalyst Level 2 and Sportsbox AI. Jayson medaled in the Invictus games when it was held at the acclaimed St George’s golf course in Toronto.

Tyson DeskinsTyson Deskins •

Tyson is the founder and owner of 419 Golf in Ontario, OH, where he brings a data-driven approach to coaching and instruction. With a passion for teaching since 2018, Tyson thrives on tackling the unique challenges each student faces, adapting his methods to fit their individual learning style.

Certified in a wide range of cutting-edge tools, Tyson leverages technologies like TrackMan, Smart2Move 3D Force Plates, SportsBox AI, HackMotion, and AimPoint to help players improve more efficiently. His coaching experience includes guiding multiple Northern and Southern Ohio PGA Junior Players of the Year, as well as the 2023 National PGA Club Champion at Kiawah Island.
